Several weeks back, we just started to enjoy what was becoming an awesome back deck, checking it out and thinking of how much fun we were going to have on it this summer. Daddy envisioned the back portion, which is walled on 3 sides, as a great place to play some fun hockey games year-round with the kids. Mommy, on the other hand, had an even better idea! That area of the deck is narrow and is well protected from both direct sunlight and even rain, how could we not have already thought of outdoor Family Movie Night!? We soon found a projector with a built-in DVD, then Daddy did some crackerjack research on how to build a screen. A few short days later, the screen was up, sunset arrived and we were ready, snacks in hand, for the grand opening of our backyard cinema! Lucky for us, we even had guests on hand to make the inaugural screening even more special. We all loved the fresh air and cool breeze as we sat back to enjoy Madagascar. What a way to end a long and busy (and hot!) Saturday, it was amazing. Saturday nights for the foreseeable future are booked, who would have ever thought we would be cheering for the sun to go down in summer!?
