After four months of fun and friendship, Nanny Caitlin spent her last day as our full-time nanny and is ready to move on to big things at Carleton University this fall. Oliver and Isabelle were very sad to bid her goodbye, with Isabelle especially verbally lamenting her departure all night long. She was such a great influence on both of them all summer long, tirelessly dedicating every day to making sure they had fun and were well taken care of. They went on so many excursions each week, everything from the choo-choo table to museums to wading pools to playdates with other kids, poor Caitlin put miles on the odometer of our little red wagon and spent hours keeping them happy on OC Transpo buses and trains. They worked on crafts, played dress-up, baked muffins, held tea parties, commemorated big occasions and most of all, frequented every park within walking distance (and some that were even further than that!). Above everything, she gave us peace of mind that our treasures were in more than capable hands every day. She's been more than a nanny to them and to us, she is a beloved friend and we will miss her more than we could ever imagine. Before she left, she gave the kids some fabulous gifts that they LOVED, plus the sweetest scrapbook for us that really tugged at our heartstrings. We are excited that Caitlin will be able to continue her relationship with us and the kids as their regular babysitter, starting next Saturday. Weekday mornings just won't be the same around here, but at least she will still be a big part of our lives. Thanks for the great work this summer, Caitlin, we look forward to seeing you again very soon!
