Just Add Water

Isabelle and Oliver are officially back in the swim of things as tonight they started their fall lessons at the local pool, Isabelle in Preschool D and Oliver in Parent & Tot 2. Isabelle was ecstatic to learn she not only had a girl teacher, but a familiar one, her Preschool B teacher Alex! It was great to see how comfortable she is in the water, especially since the entire class took place in the deep end! The kids hung onto their noodles and swam around, including some daring leaps from the diving board, led by the little Muskoka Missile herself. She left the pool saying she wants to go swimming every day of the week.

Oliver's maiden set of classes was a challenge at times but now on set #2, he seems much more at home in the water, pointing out the fish hanging from the ceiling, chasing floating ducks and testing out the big slide. He especially enjoys the pre and post-swim shower, shrieking with delight when held underneath the water. In the pool, he was a talkative one tonight, babbling away, waving at his Mom and always looking for his sister in the neighbouring class. He was upset to get out of the pool at the end but we will be back for more next week! Looking forward to it!

As usual, the camera ban is in effect at swim class, so you will all have to settle for shots of Isabelle's inaugural swim in Uncle Randy's brand new continuous pool! I hope he knows that we're going to be over there visiting a lot. He might have to tell Isabelle to get out so he can use it!
