No Room at the Inn

Hectic times around here as our basement apartment has had the "No Vacancy" sign hanging out front for the past few days, plus we are fully booked up until Friday night! Isabelle and Oliver have been thrilled with all the traffic through our front door, more people to play with than boring old Mom and Dad! Our friends Alli and Sean were up from Toronto on Friday, in town for a friend's wedding and for a nice visit with us. Favourite canine Kobe didn't make the trip but that didn't dampen the kid's enthusiasm at all. Aside from having them around the house, we also met up with them during the wedding/reception break to do some shopping while the kids hit a nearby park. Suit and all, Sean was in on the action, zipping down slides and granting airplane to a demanding Isabelle. Even though we just saw them a few weeks back in Toronto, it was really nice to catch up with them, especially at the end of the day when things quieted down (remember, we are also in the midst of planning a birthday bash!). They have accomplished a lot and have a great home on the Danforth, lots to be proud of as they build their future.  We miss you guys already!

Let 'er rip!  This suit is wash and wear!

Kids just love getting dizzy.

Thanks for a fun weekend!  When are you guys coming up to visit again?

Shortly after their departure (just enough time to turn over the bed, but with no chambermaids on staff!), Grandpa touched down at the airport and is here for work until Friday. Isabelle ran into his arms as he reached the bottom of the escalator, Oliver was slightly less excited to see him but warmed up soon after, enough that he was already tugging Grandpa over to his climbing chair tonight. We had a great dinner and visit and afterwards, Isabelle clung tightly to her Grandpa. Earlier today she was wondering whether Grandpa would want her to come down and sleep with him. When told he might not like that, she wondered "But why, I'm the most fun to sleep with!". She was so happy to have him read her bedtime story and he will surely be the first thing on her mind when she wakes up tomorrow. We'll have lots of fun nights this week with Grandpa in town, all leading up to a busy weekend on the horizon. So if you're looking for a place to stay, we re-open for customers next Monday, but we serve a select clientele, so get your accommodation reservations in early!

Hey dude, can you give me a hand over my makeshift mountain?

Oliver learned the signal for "one more time" tonight!
