Like many neighbouring streets that have had similar events for years, our street finally decided to join the club this year and throw our own block party! Tasks assigned, barriers up, ovens hard at work, insurance bought and we were ready to go. We've been here over 5 years and have struck up some great relationships with our fellow streetmates, but it was really nice to have everyone out and mingling with each other. Isabelle and Oliver were right in the mix, of course, hanging with all the other kids on the street, tearing around from house to house, running around with balloons, snacking on treats and playing cool games like fish pond, bowling, bean bags and more. We learned a lot about many of our neighbours in between chasing down kids and tasting food when we could, but what we loved most was seeing Isabelle and Oliver's friendships grow right in front of our eyes. We could hit fast forward in our brains and see these same kids as pre-teens and teens, heading up and down the stairs of each other's houses, having a blast. For an inaugural event, it was a big hit and surely this will turn into an annual event. We look forward to next year, for now we are trying to keep Isabelle and Oliver off the street, they think they can play on it every day now!
Partying on the porch with her peeps!
They have popcorn here? Okay, I'll stay.
Sibling snackers
I'm just finishing my sucker, can I have the next one already?
