Snakes Alive!

With the big day already passed last Wednesday, it was time for Logan to officially recognize his birthday with friends and family like any normal 4-year old boy would: with bugs, snakes and alligators! Logan and several other mini-explorers ventured out to Ray's Reptiles to celebrate, open presents, eat cake and best of all, get up close and personal with some slimy and sometimes scary creatures. Isabelle and Oliver came along for the ride, and while Oliver snoozed through the early part of the proceedings, Isabelle made her way through the zoo and was quite excited to point out huge snakes and tiny turtles, tugging her friends Brooklyn and Isla from one tank to the next. Her bravery was pretty much reserved for animals that were behind glass, however, because once the party moved into the hands-on portion, her excitement dwindled quickly! Oliver joined in and clutched Mom while Isabelle stayed close to Dad as the zookeeper led the group through scorpions, turtles, snakes and a mini-alligator. Even though she did touch a few animals, it's probably safe to say that Isabelle won't pick this spot for her party next year.  But all in all, the kids had a blast and moved on to food, drink and presents before one last treat, seeing the alligators at feeding time! Yikes, if you thought a pack of kids around a cake had no manners, you haven't seen these guys! We're glad you had such a wicked birthday, dude, you deserve it. Thanks for having us!

Best pals together again, weekdays and now weekends too!

Check it out, Brooklyn, a snake!  My Gran doesn't like those!

The crew of excited zoo-goers gets ready for the main event!

Is this the same dude who cried on the hayride at Saunders Farm?

Check out the size of this guy!

Who wants to touch it? Not everyone!

Oliver checks out some snakes himself.  What's the deal with no shirt?

Oh. That's why.
