The Muskoka Spruce

We were so happy when we bought our tree and found out it was from Simcoe, Ontario...Muskoka in our living room! She is nice and full and even looks great from all sides. Given the mild temperatures of late, it was quite easy to choose her, she wasn't frozen and difficult to evaluate like years past. She is up in our living room and it is now officially the Christmas season. We were even lucky enough to have Grandpa in town from Halifax to help us decorate. How lucky he is to get two decorating parties in one year! Oliver and Isabelle did a fabulous job of populating the lower branches with ornament after ornament, Oliver especially was so disappointed once all of them were on the tree. He simply solved that problem through improvisation, namely taking them off and putting them back on. There is nothing better than December, when you can just turn off the house lights and enjoy the illumination from the tree and other Christmas lights. If only we could leave the tree up all year! The kids finished off their night by checking out their message from Santa on the computer, it was funny to see the difference in reaction between the two. We expect next year Oliver will realize the power Santa holds and will cozy up to him a bit more!

Decorating is so much fun!
