O Canada, We Stand on Guard for Thee!

Happy 143rd Birthday, Canada! That's a lot of candles, buddy! What better place to fete our home and native land than right here in the nation's capital, and we had a whole crew ready to do just that. We started off the day on the Quebec side (yes, a 2 province day!), where they have more of the kid-centric activities on tap. We sampled some gourmet lollipops, lined up for several bouncy houses and witnessed some high flying divers in action. Lots of open space and room to roam for Isabelle, Oliver and Logan and they had so much fun doing so. From there we headed downtown where open space was at a bit more of a premium, more like non-existent. What a madhouse! Red and white as far as the eye could see, it's really amazing to see the patriotism out in full force and our trio of revelers were super-excited to be a part of it. Oliver charmed all passersby as Isabelle and Logan got their standard facepainting, plus we saw a great street band that had all of Sparks Street rocking. But all great parties have to come to an end at some point, especially for tuckered out little patriots. Their first taste of the signature event, the fireworks, will have to wait for at least one more year, but we were all thrilled to be part of a great celebration of the land we love. Way to go Canada, you're awesome!

Some rocking (and brushing) before heading to rock at The Hill!
