With the birthday whirlwind around our house starting to settle down somewhat, we have a few free moments to recap the pre-birthday celebration featuring Isabelle and the Haligonians, which took place the weekend prior to her birthday. It was so nice to see everyone and Isabelle was overjoyed to see Gran, Grandpa, Aunties Mer and Meg, and especially her east coast playmate, Olan! She loves to tear around the house with that boy, getting into all kinds of mischief in between snacks, as well as providing hours of entertainment for anyone in the general vicinity. They both tapped into their musical talents at the piano, guitar and harmonica, and loved zipping around the cottage property - no shortage of pails, rocks, sand and water to keep them occupied. Isabelle got to re-experience the Halifax market (and the busker donations), visited her favourite zoo (complete with 2 pony rides), and saw the fruits of many months of Bangay labour, the cottage. The wild weekend culminated with a birthday party complete with Sesame Street cupcakes back in Bedford. A wonderful time on the East Coast and as always, many queries as to the whereabouts of Olan and the rest of the Halifax crew once we were back at the normal routine in Ottawa. Thanks to everyone for making her birthday weekend such a special one!
