Eager for Easter

The final weekend before we shipped out to Florida for a sleepy-eyed Easter in the sunshine (we were slated to arrive at around 1:30 am the night before Easter), we met up with Logan and Kayla for an Ottawa-based egg hunt at Stanley's Farm. You have to book well in advance to even get a spot, so when our day finally came, we had to contend with some inclement weather which did little to dampen the spirits of our 3 seasoned egg-hunters and the first-timer Kayla. The trio grabbed their baskets and after some initial hesitation from guess who (the Big O), we finally erased all the tears and boarded the wagon for the woods. Once out in the bush, there were eggs of all colours everywhere, more than enough for even a neophyte egg searcher to spot one and grab it.  Oliver, Isabelle and Logan made short work of the search and happily traded in their treasures for a loot bag (the real reason they came!). The rain stayed intermittent the whole time, so no one got soaked and everyone went home happy, especially since the final stop before leaving was at the taffy shack! More egg hunting to come on the beach but we were happy to spend part of the holiday with Renee and Shawn. Next year, we will have a basket for Kayla!
