Poppy Pride

Remembrance Day is one of the best days of the year to be in Ottawa, our nation's capital, where they really know how to celebrate and honour our veterans for their service to the people of Canada. We could not have asked for a better day. Sunny, clear blue skies looked over the War Memorial as a huge crowd gathered to give thanks to all who have fought, served and sacrificed for our great country. In addition to the honoured guests, the ceremony had an even more royal flavour than normal this year, as Prince Charles and Camilla were in town for the festivities. Isabelle proudly displayed her poppy and although she was a little bit spooked by the noise of the 21-gun salute and the CF-18s that flew right over our heads, she was a model attendee, even shushing her dad for talking! After the ceremony, we got the chance to get up close to the memorial, meet up with Logan, check out the beautiful wreaths and leave our poppies. The ceremony is always a great tribute to our forces and veterans, and makes us all feel proud of our country and of what they did for us. We look forward to being back next year. Special thanks to Great Grandpa and Uncle Roy, we are proud of you and can't thank you enough.
