One of Isabelle's favourite books (Olan's too!) has come to life. Nominated for Best Animated Short at last week's Academy Awards, The Gruffalo is an awesome story about a crafty mouse that outwits a fox, an owl and a snake, before outsmarting the Gruffalo himself. Isabelle has always loved the book and has even brought it to school a few times to share it with the class. Last week, when we found out it had been made into a movie, we dug around and found it on the internet so Isabelle and Oliver could see what the Gruffalo looks like on the big screen. Needless to say, he made quite an impression on these two. They both loved it, their eyes get wide with excitement as the story progresses. It must have really excited Oliver, as he woke up the next morning at 7 saying "Mouse? Mouse! Mouse?". Tonight they both revisited the book and were just as riveted reading it as they were watching it. Such a great story and even though it didn't end up being an Oscar winner, it got two thumbs up and a big round of applause in this household!
Movie mesmerized
Wow, that's a big Gruffalo!
